The Basics of Safe Group Riding

  • Pay close attention to those riding around you.

  • Keep both hands on the handlebar, close to your brakes.

  • Ride predictably and in a straight line. No swerving.

  • Don't slow, stop, or change directions quickly.

  • Don’t overlap wheels with cyclists in front of you.

  • Provide extra following distance in case someone has to stop or turn quickly.

  • Call out to the group if you see a hazard in the road, or if you are slowing or stopping.

  • When approaching intersections, make sure it is safe to enter before doing so.

  • Have Fun!
