Drive on Washington SR 14 for 22.8 miles east of the Bridge of the Gods or 1.5 miles west of the Hood River
Bridge (toll 50 cents) to an unsigned road on your northjust east of a bridge over the White Salmon River and 0.6
miles east of milepost 63. Turn north; in 2.3 miles meet Washington 141 and turn left onto it. After 8.1 miles
come to B Z Corner, the south westernmost point on the loop. Continue north along Washington 141 for
another 11.5 miles to Trout Lake. At the south end of Trout Lake come to a fork. For the best parking take the left fork
, follow sign to Mt. Adams City park.
After parking your car, ride back to the fork, take the right branch (east),
identified by a sign pointing to Randel and the Mount Adams Recreation Area. Cross the White Salmon River
and just beyond the span turn right, as indicated by a sign pointing to Glenwood. In Glenwood turn right (south) onto
B Z Corner Glenwood Rd. at B Z Corner turn right (north) onto Washington 141, return to Trout Lake.
This route has two significant climbs, one 2 mile climb shortly after Trout Lake , and another 0.7 mile
climb at the 30 mile point. The return on 141 to Trout Lake is a very gradual climb. Be alert for open range cattle
and wildlife that could be standing in the road as you come flying down hill. Be warned that the shoulders are soft
