Atlantic Coast Tour
April 9th, Cape Kennedy KOA to Nova Family Campground
Return to Tour Index Page | Today's Video

We feel very refreshed after taking a day off. The Cape Kennedy KOA is an oasis for us. Folks ride around on pedal surreys and adult trikes. Workers are busy cleaning, planting, and fixing things all over. Everything is clean and shinny. We spend the day updating out web site and eating. There are squirrels all over. The campground has put these squirrel feeders out to keep them busy. They look like a windmill. The squirrels jump on it and it goes around giving them a ride and keeping us entertained for hours. We take a walk in the early evening and get ice cream. Life is good.

It is morning and the sun is shining and the wind has died down somewhat. We say goodbye to our neighbors who live in Bar Harbor. They promise to email us and invite us to stay at their place, as it is only a hop and skip from the campground where we were going to stay. They tell us that there is a free bus that takes folks all around the area so we are going to be sure to do that. We do hope to connect because I am sure we will be looking for a friendly face about the time we roll in to Bar Harbor.
The ride today is smooth and easy. We stop at a small store and banter with a Harley Motorcycle Dude and his buddies. We tease back and forth about trading bikes. They tell us that the area has been forgotten by time and that life is slow and easy here.
The scenery is mostly swampland that changes to a long section of stores and businesses as we near the campground. Folks wave at us as they pass. One lady pulls up to us and hands us a bible. That is a first. Well, we need all the help we can get, because this is going to be a very long trip.
